2017 DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY REGULATIONS

What do the new 2017 DOE regulations mean for you?

Effective June 5, 2017, new Department of Energy (DOE) regulations will require greater energy efficiency for commercial doors in both Walk-In Coolers and Freezers. These new regulations are aimed to reduce energy consumption from previous regulations in an effort to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint. The new standard will require that Door and Frame energy consumption not exceed certain values based on door size. Door Models exceeding these values must be sold with an Energy Controller. The Energy Controller must reduce the energy use of the door and frame heat in accordance to the relative humidity of the air outside the door. DOE Image_1

ALL ANTHONY DOORS ARE 2017 DOE COMPLIANT

For over 60 years Anthony has prided itself on developing the industry’s most energy efficient refrigeration doors and frames.  All Anthony Door Models meet 2017 DOE regulations, and as indicated above, may now require an Energy Controller.  For more information on Anthony’s Energy Controllers please CLICK HERE

To help meet these new stringent standards and to eliminate the enormous energy drain of door heat, Anthony offers a number of doors that are Zero-Energy – zero door heat required.  These doors utilize advanced technologies, such as Vacuum Insulated Glass (VIG) and other insulating materials, to prevent door sweating without the use of door heat.
